How to Backup and Restore your iPad

Backing up and restoring an iPad is easy. To backup your iPad, you need to connect your iPad to a computer. After connecting iPad to computer, you have to click ‘back up now’ on the iPad screen. This may take some time which depends on data and applications which you have on your Ipad. After the iPad finishes backup, go to the settings menu. Click on ‘general’ and scroll down to ‘reset’. You has click it and then select ‘erase all content and settings’. Your iPad will prompt twice if you want to continue. And if you are sure that you have backed up your data, then you can initiate the erase. This will take some time which depends on how much data stored in your device.

You have to keep in mind that this method only backup your settings but not your music, videos, apps and photos. You have to back up those files separately in a different computer or hard drive so that you can sync them any times with iTunes. To restore backup, right click on iPad from the left window of iTunes.

If you have successfully saved a backup from earlier steps, then you can click on the option “Restore your iPad from backup”. It will prompt you for some basic information after the iPad is wiped. After completing this, it will ask you to set up your iPad as new or restore information from previous backup. Then Plug your iPad back into your computer. “Welcome to your new iPad” screen will appear. After a few minutes all your data will be back up in your device.
